Unions on campus have combined forces to support a joint campaign as we all head to the bargaining table this year. The joint platform of 2020 Vision encompasses key bargaining demands, necessary working conditions, and a shared vision of a U of T that respects our work and our livelihoods.
Our members unanimously endorsed the 2020 Vision platform at our AGM in April, demanding that the U of T should be a place where 10/15/20 is a reality: $10,000 per half course (for sessional lecturers), $15 minimum wage across campus, and $20,000 minimum graduate funding package. 2020 Vision is a shared commitment not just between CUPE 3902’s bargaining units, but between USW 1998, CUPE 3261, CUPE 1230 and CUPE 2484. Come out to the BBQ for the campaign kickoff!
I suppose that this is also a personal announcement, as I recently started two new positions, both at CUPE 3902, which represents contract academic staff at the University of Toronto. I am now both the Steward for the Department of Arts, Culture and Media at the University of Toronto Scarborough and the Co-Chair of the Bargaining Support Committee.
